Now this is a high quality piece of man! I think that the figure's face looks way more like Sam Worthington than the Hall of Shame Avatar toy could ever dream of. His shield even puts the Ninja Turtles to shame, I am afraid.
Modern depictions of Greek heroes (demigods, whatever) have always struck me as being pretty inaccurate. Sure, the armor looks great, but look at any classical statue and you see that they actually idealized sort of womanly men, not so much this type of raw masculinity. But hey, it's a studio film, who then licensed another company to make the toys so we take what we can get, I suppose. Also, it does not look like it has any kind of meaningful articulation, so we shall be content with little head turns and arm raises as he growls "Down with Hades."
Toys hit stands just this weekend, but so far Perseus (pictured) is the only one released--Hot Toys will also be releasing their own version of the figure. You can get it at major retailers for $14.
By the way, haven't seen this movie yet, but what enraged me in the Lightening Thief film that came out this year was that they actually mentioned "the ruler of Hades" at one point. Hades=the god of the underworld. You can get away with also calling the Greek conception of the underworld "Hades," but please don't be so lazy in your research to actually say "ruler of Hades" in a script that you must have revised 200 times!
